CTX Week 3 - assignment 1 Discussion 13/09/18

Updated: Dec 11, 2018

Hi! This is 2 weeks late due! Sorry! Too busy with work :B Anyway, we had a discussion on the pros and cons of modernism. It was thought provoking and interesting. I learned that artists have always been marginalised way back time and this is still the recurring history of our modern time. Moving on, we moved to our own groups (I'm with Khiirtana and Arissa) and our assignment is to give our personal interpretations based on a text called The Wolves and the Rabbits and further look on what they are. It's basically... about the rabbits were causing the wolves hard times and they planned to do something to them but the rest of the animals told them to stay and call them for help when needed. Until one day, they disappeared. The animals questioned the wolves where they were and they said "there's no escapists in this world", which really left me wondering what this text could unravel.

So, my interpretation of this assignment is based on real life sociological social class people such as, for example, the jewish people in Germany as their ancestors had faced mass murders from Nazis. It is also about how the socially privileged class group would do anything in impulse to eliminate the other social class group based on what they heard about them.

Some of the observations that we had were: - The other animals promised to help the rabbits but they didn’t.

- The wolves kept them in a cave instead of just killing them.

- The wolves blamed natural events on the rabbits.

- The rabbits wanted to escape.

- The wolves dislike the rabbits.

- The moral says, you should run not walk to the nearest desert island.

We also identified the problems the short story such as: - Why didn’t the wolves eat the rabbits in the first place ?

- Why did the wolves do all of this at the time that they did?

- What if it was the rabbits the ones that were scheming on the wolves?

- Who came up with the phrase there is no place in this world for escapist?

- Were the wolves dying because of themselves or was it the rabbits?

- Did any of the other animals die from the natural occurrences?

We had tow separate theories. Me and Khiirtana did them. Khiirtana's theory was basically related to what happened in World War II when Hitler put the Jewish in the gas chamber. My theory was about the powerful group in society that oppresses the marginalised groups by attempting to get rid of their existence.

Btw, here are some pictures that I took during class :3c

After getting all the shots and audio recordings, Khiirtana was still compiling all the files into its place. However, her computer was lagging from the amount of videos and audios being compiled toge
